BIOSS was founded by Elliott Jaques and Gillian Stamp more than 40 years ago. Elliott provided a strong foundation through the architecture of levels of work. When Gillian assumed leadership of BIOSS, she moved it to a global footing. She strengthened its roots through the science of complexity and solidified its culture through an appreciative perspective. Gillian achieved this by integrating her empirical research and hands-on support to leaders in the military, private equity, public corporations, non-profits and the government sector with thought leadership from researchers in mathematics, economics, marketing, biology, psychology, sociology, anthropology, theology, knowledge management, philosophy, political science and poetry.

The net result of this is what Axa, SAB Millar, Suez, Telenet, The Tata Group,… nowadays claim as their “competitive advantage”.
